How does the fastening work?

The Miqaat uses two fasteners, both attached to adhesive bonded panels with no stitching. Two metal snap buttons at the shoulder hold the rida in place. A velcro closure at the waist holds the izar. When you enter ihram, you press each one once. No tying, no wrapping, no adjusting throughout your rites.
Does the snap or the velcro count as stitching?

No. Sheikh Al-Khathlān's ruling addresses this directly. The prohibition in ihram relates to tailored clothing that encompasses the body, not to the presence of thread or the method of fastening. Adhesive, snaps, velcro, buttons, and pockets are all permissible because the garment is not fitted to the body's shape.

Each sheet fits most adult men. The ihram is worn loose in the traditional way, not tailored to the body. The velcro closure adjusts to your waist.
